MFU School of Management Welcomes UiTM for Short-Term Academic and Cultural Mobility Program

MFU School of Management Welcomes UiTM for Short-Term Academic and Cultural Mobility Program

Date: 8 - 17 June 2026
Venue: M for U Room, 2nd Floor, M-Square Building

The School of Management at Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), officially launched its Short-term Academic and Cultural Mobility Program on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the M for U Room, 2nd Floor, M-Square Building. Dr. Piyathida Pianluprasidh, Dean of the School of Management, presided over the opening ceremony to welcome students and faculty members from the Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, for a 10-day academic and cultural exchange running from June 8–17, 2026.

This program reflects the deep and enduring partnership between MFU and UiTM, which began with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in 2022 to support joint international research activities. The collaboration was further expanded through a Letter of Intent signed on February 25, 2026, extending the scope to cover teaching and learning, academic services, and experiential exchange activities for both students and faculty. A total of 27 participants from both institutions are taking part in this year's program.

Following the opening ceremony, participants engaged in a "Coffee Tasting" workshop — a hands-on activity that integrates management knowledge with the distinctive local identity of Chiang Rai's coffee industry. A Campus Tour was scheduled for the afternoon to familiarize the visiting delegation with MFU's learning environment and facilities.

"This program is a significant step in strengthening the School of Management's international profile," said Dr. Piyathida Pianluprasidh. "We want our students to learn through real cross-cultural experiences, develop their English communication skills, and build the ability to collaborate with international peers—all of which are essential competencies for graduates in today's world."

Over the course of the 10-day program, students from both institutions will work together on Service-Learning (SULAM) activities, conducting field visits and applying their knowledge of accounting and management to address real business challenges, under the supervision of faculty advisors from both universities. The program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
