SHAH ALAM: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) has joined the list of world elite universities after 13 of its subjects were listed in the “2017 QS World University Rankings by Subject” list.

UiTM vice-chancellor Prof Emeritus Hassan Said said of these, eight were new subjects.

 

The eight subjects were Architecture and Built Environment, Arts and Design, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture and Forestry, Medicine, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Chemistry, and Business Management and Administration.

“The five subjects, which were listed in the QS World University Rankings in 2016, have improved their score rankings, namely Accountancy and Finance, Education, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science and Information Systems,” he said in a statement here today.

“We are confident that with special strategy and scheduled monitoring, UiTM can improve its position in the coming years,” Hassan said.

SHAH ALAM: The Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) will introduce e-Wakaf (endowment) system in an effort to raise funds to strengthen the university's education system and physical development.

Its vice-chancellor, Emeritus Prof Datuk Hassan Said said the web system was developed by the UiTM itself in collaboration with Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor and it will be launched on Jan 13.

"Hence, we welcome contributions either in cash or items from various groups that will bring great benefits to the university and its community.

PUNCAK ALAM, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- SALIHIN Chartered Accountant (SALIHIN) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) are pleased today to announce the official launching of the Teaching Accountancy Firm (TAF) at UiTM by the guest of honor, Minister of Finance II, YB Datuk Johari bin Abdul Ghani.

This SALIHIN-UiTM TAF provides a unique and advanced learning and training field for accounting lecturers, students and the industry.  This collaboration, also known as ‘industry coming to the university’, aims at providing better learning environment in a real-life industry setting for producing “thinking and enterprising accountants” relevant to industrial and national needs.
