Petaling Jaya (Friday, 6 Nov 2015) : Amcorp Group Berhad (“Amcorp”) in collaboration with Yayasan Azman Hashim (“YAH”) has awarded its scholarship, the Amcorp Study Grant (“ASG”) to 4 recipients to study ACCA. The recipients are Siti Nur Ain Binti Zainal, Chan Ker Li, Wan Zulaikha Binti Wan Zulkiflee and Liaw Yung May. In conjunction with the scholarship award, a signing ceremony and cheque presentation was held at Amcorp’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya today. Among the attendees at the signing ceremony were Encik Shahman Azman, Chairman of RCE Capital Berhad and Mr Soo Kim Wai, Group Managing Director of Amcorp Group Berhad.

A signing ceremony to officiate the scholarship award was held at RCE Capital Berhad (RCE) (a subsidiary of Amcorp Group Berhad) today. Encik Shahman Azman, Chairman of RCE Capital Berhad and Mr. Loh Kam Chuin, Chief Executive Officer of RCE Capital Berhad witnessed the signing ceremony which was attended by parents of the ASG recipients and other officials from both Amcorp and RCE.

KUALA LUMPUR: Three Malaysian academic institutions have been awarded Tier 1 status by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to enhance the employability of its students.

CIMA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University Malaya (UM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), relating to this new status. Several other institutions will be awarded the same status in the future.

CIMA Education executive director and MoU signatory Dr. Noel Tagoe, spoke of providing required skills for graduates in employment.

"By equipping them with technical, business, leadership and people abilities they can in turn influence people's decisions, actions and behaviour."

Tagoe stated that working practitioners would reflect on their actions and its causes, in alignment with their stakeholders' interests.

"This comes about when we understand business challenges, performance, competencies and learning systems."

UiTM's Accountancy Faculty Dean Professor Dr. Rozainun Abd. Aziz said the award also assisted in helping the nation meet its aspirations for 60,000 accountants by the year 2020.
