The successful international SULAM project involves 10 students from the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM and 25 students from the Faculty of Economy, UNSIKA who are supervised by 6 lecturers from UiTM and UNSIKA. The project focused on engaging with a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), Semprong Amoundy, located in Karawang.
During this project, the participating students had the invaluable opportunity to gain practical insights and experiences in a real-world business environment. The objective was to foster cross-cultural collaboration, enhance entrepreneurial decision-making skills, and promote knowledge sharing among the students and the SME.
Under the guidance of their respective faculty members, the students undertook various activities, including:
• Conducting industry analysis to understand the sector and identify potential business opportunities.
• Interviewing the SME's owner-managers to identify issues/challenges facing the SME.
• Developing innovative strategies to improve the SME's operational efficiency and productivity as well as marketing and sales processes.
• Providing recommendations for business expansion and diversification.
• Engaging in meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange sessions with the SME's owner-managers.
Throughout the project, both UiTM and UNSIKA students displayed remarkable dedication, teamwork, and a strong commitment to the success of the collaboration. Their combined efforts and diverse perspectives contributed to the generation of creative solutions and valuable insights for the SME in question.
