The primary focus of the centre is twofold; (i) to generate a cross-disciplinary understanding of how corporations can initiate and promote global sustainability principles and (ii) how academics can promote a comprehensive sustainability research capability within the Asian-Pacific region.

APCeS aims to:

• To provide excellence in research in the area of sustainability and suatainable development, including undertaking collaborative research with other Universities/Centres in the Asia-Pacific region.
• To promote and create awareness on the importance of sustainablity and sustainable development to various stakeholder groups through research, capacity building, sharing of information and exchanges of experiences.
• To provide a platform for the exchange of information and knowledge between government agencies and non-governmental organizations through forums and dialogues.
• To provide advisory, research and training services in corporate sustainability to a wide range of stakeholders in the public, private and non-governmental sectors.
• To contribute to the development of knowledge on new forms of management that are prerequisite for tackling issues related to business in society, sustainability, corporate responsibility or business ethics.
