Research

Our team members work on various areas of related research. We aim to shed new light on sustainability matters and recommend theoretical and practical solutions.

Research

The primary focus of the centre is twofold; (i) to generate a cross-disciplinary understanding of how corporations can initiate and promote global sustainability principles and (ii) how academics can promote a comprehensive sustainability research capability within the Asian-Pacific region.

APCeS aims to:

  • To provide excellence in research in the area of sustainability and suatainable development, including undertaking collaborative research with other Universities/Centres in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • To promote and create awareness on the importance of sustainablity and sustainable development to various stakeholder groups through research, capacity building, sharing of information and exchanges of experiences.
  • To provide a platform for the exchange of information and knowledge between government agencies and non-governmental organizations through forums and dialogues.
  • To provide advisory, research and training services in corporate sustainability to a wide range of stakeholders in the public, private and non-governmental sectors.
  • To contribute to the development of knowledge on new forms of management that are prerequisite for tackling issues related to business in society, sustainability, corporate responsibility or business ethics.
Research

Asia-Pacific Centre for Sustainability (APCeS) 

 The Asia-Pacific Centre of Excellence for Sustainability (APCeS) is a research centre initiated by the Faculty of Accountancy with ACCA Malaysia, a leading international professional accountancy body dedicated to sustainability-business related issues. The sustainability efforts of APCeS take form in many different ways – from promoting sustainability practices to focusing on the role of sustainability reports as a transparent communication tool between organizations and their stakeholders.

APCeS aims to promote the development and application of global sustainability principles within the Asia-Pacific region and to become a ‘Catalytic Centre’ to bring about quality improvements in the Sustainability Practices within the Asian-Pacific region.

UiTM Shah Alam

The Publication Fee Funding initiative was launched by the Research Management Centre (RMC) of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) on June 11th, 2020. This funding is special financial assistance for the UiTM academic staff, with the goal of increasing publications in Scopus and WOS indexed journals. The eligibility criteria, application form, and flow chart for the funding application can be downloaded here:
